Step Black G10, Satin is the result of Bestech 's collaboration with Italian designer Denis Simonutti, known for his minimalist, functional concepts and distinct approach to functional form. The compact but robust fixed blade design combines high functionality, material durability and usable ergonomics, making it a tool designed for field work, tactical operations and everyday carry. Blade made of durable D2 tool steel offers exceptional edge retention and abrasion resistance – features valued by users who use the tool intensively. Thanks to its modified tanto profile, the design guarantees increased tip control and strength for cuts that require more forceful pressure. The satin finish reduces reflections and emphasizes precision craftsmanship. The G10 composite handle provides a high level of grip and resistance to the elements. Its ergonomic milling improves blade control even in demanding environments. It comes with a kydex plastic sheath, allowing the knife to be carried comfortably and safely in vertical, horizontal or slanted orientation – ideal for EDC enthusiasts , bushcraft enthusiasts and off-road operators.
Denis Simonutti, born in 1986 in Maniago, is an Italian designer and knifemaker from Friuli. He has been active in the knife industry since 2010 and is known as the inventor of the Fingers Safe Opening System locking system . His passions are mountaineering and photography, which he combines with his design skills to create knives with unique design and functionality. He works with the Fox brand for which he designed the “The Claw” series of Karambit knives, combining oriental style with practical use.
D2 – a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 58-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade – with a modified tanto profile allows precise tip operations and strong cuts. D2 steel offers excellent edge retention and wear resistance, making the knife suitable for tasks requiring durability. The flat grind promotes smooth penetration of the blade into the material, while the satin finish reduces friction and increases comfort. Additional functional elements, such as milling on the back (jimping) and finger indentation, improve control for precision tasks.
Handle – made of G10 composite is characterized by resistance to impact, moisture and changeable weather conditions. Its texture and symmetrical undercuts enhance grip confidence, regardless of the situation. The full tang construction ensures structural integrity and increases stability during heavy use. Sheath made of kydex, compatible with a number of mounting systems, allows the knife to be carried comfortably and discreetly – either on a belt or on a mount. This is a perfectly balanced tool for everyday use and tactical field applications.
