MicroJimbo Cobalt Blue G10, Satin is a compact version of the Yojimbo design, created by M. Janich, a personal defense trainer. Unique due to the refined ergonomics of the G10 Handle , which complements the natural curves of the hand for maximum contact and control. The blade is made of CPM SPY27 steel, known for its exceptional strength, corrosion resistance and long-lasting sharpness. All this makes it an ideal choice for an everyday knife. The Compression Lock mechanism ensures safe and secure use of the knife. Exceptional quality and unique design combine functionality and aesthetics. CPM SPY27 – a proprietary blend of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. The high-alloy stainless steel contains 1.4% carbon and a 1% admixture of niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel’s resistance to wear. Thanks to its properties, the steel holds sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. It is easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant and contains a high admixture of 14% chromium. It provides good strength and cutting edge retention, as well as a fine-grained structure. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy(CPM) method. The CPM process produces a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Compression-Lock – (similar to Liner-Lock) Spyderco 's (made in USA) patented blade locking mechanism. Extremely durable, it provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the Handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent locking. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding Blade.
Blade – with Warncliff profile, 3.7 mm thick. Plain blade was derived with a full flat grind. The straight cutting edge provides exceptional cutting performance, transferring power to the blade’s tip and providing better point strength. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows the Blade to be easily opened with a gloved hand as well as wet, sweaty hands.
Handle grips – stainless steel liners and lightweight grips made of G-10, a durable, heat- and cold-resistant, chemical-resistant plastic. The whole was screwed together with torx screws for easy unfolding / folding of the folder. A double-sided (right/left) metal clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position (blade tip up).
