The Kingfisher Black Titanium/Copper Carbon Fiber, Black DLC by Remette is a balanced combination of advanced engineering and refined design – a tool created for users who expect uncompromising quality, high aesthetics and reliability in everyday use. The construction is based on titanium, supplemented with Copper Carbon Fiber inserts, which provides not only lightness and rigidity, but also excellent mechanical resistance. Blade made of Böhler M390 powder steel is coated with black DLC. The modified drop point profile ensures cutting versatility, while the full flat grind minimizes resistance to work, increasing the knife’s effectiveness even in demanding tasks. The Handle is a combination of titanium with modern carbon fiber accents , which creates an elegant but practical structure. The whole thing is designed for discreet carry- the deep carry clip, integrated backspacer and ergonomic profiling make the Kingfisher model suitable both as an advanced EDC tool and as part of a premium knife collection.
M390 – martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry.
Blade – with a modified drop point profile – is made from Böhler M390 powder steel, known for its excellent abrasion resistance and exceptionally long sharpness retention. A full flat grind increases cutting efficiency, while a black DLC coating gives the blade a tactical look. Geometric support for the thumb (thumb stud) allows for efficient opening with one hand, we can also use a flipper. Notches on the back (jimping) provide stable support for the thumb during intensive work. The blade’s geometry is designed for everyday, intensive use in a variety of contexts. Frame lock with steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face, ensures safety during work.
Handle – made of milled titanium 6AL4V, provides a solid base for a slim and durable design. Copper Carbon Fiber composite inserts improve the grip and emphasize the modern character of the design. The Handle has been contoured to provide comfort and control even during prolonged use – the ergonomic ribbing naturally fits the hand. The whole is complemented by an integrated backspacer which, when removed, can be used to unscrew the pivot screw, and a deep carry clip, which allows low-profile and secure carry. Handle design is a thoughtful balance between aesthetics and practicality, meeting the needs of experienced EDC users.
