Ryson Bronze Titanium, Polished Gray is an original design by Sam Tran, in which technical simplicity meets premium aesthetics. The folder was designed for users looking for maximum functionality in a minimalist form. Its balanced silhouette and geometric consistency make it an EDC knife with a uniquely modern character, combining practical utility with collector appeal. Blade made of Böhler M390 powder steel is the center of the entire design. This material is valued for its excellent sharpness retention, corrosion resistance and stability under intensive use. The harpoon profile, combined with the hollow grind, offers versatility, both in precision tasks and in more demanding cuts. A polished finish followed by a gray coating gives the blade a matte character, effectively masking scratches and emphasizing the tactical aesthetics of the model. Sam Tran, a mechanical engineer from Germany by training, is a knife designer and EDC content creator who combines a technical sense of form with a photographic precision of material observation. His debut design “WE Ryson” confirmed his excellent knowledge of blade geometry, frame lock construction and proper handle balance. In his designs he reaches for premium steel and materials such as titanium and carbon fiber, taking care to balance functionality and aesthetics. Every detail – from the ergonomics of the grip to the cut to the hardness of the steel – is subject to his conscious analysis, so that the final product meets the needs of users and collectors of EDC knives.
M390 – a martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC,vacuum and cryogenic treatment and double tempering. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
