Harpy Stainless Steel, Satin is a classic tool from Spyderco, created for users who need an effective knife for special tasks. Equipped with a hawkbill blade, it is perfect for cutting ropes, fibers, belts and technical materials – both in marine and industrial conditions. The head made of Japanese VG-10 steel guarantees high wear resistance and excellent edge retention. Full handle made of matte stainless steel gives the knife solidity and perfectly balances the blade.Round Hole opening allows easy one-handed opening – even with gloves. On one of the Handle there is a key for unscrewing the shackle. The back lock mechanism secures the Blade in the open position, ensuring full safety during use. This model was created with professionals in mind : from emergency services to sailors and technicians. VG-10 – a grade of tool-grade stainless alloy steel created in Japan specifically for making premium blades and knives. The steel recipe was created by Takefu Special Steel co. Ltd, which is headquartered in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture. Initially used in the production of kitchen knives, it quickly found use as an excellent material for utility blades. Due to import restrictions, almost all knives made of VG-10 steel are produced in Seki, Japan.
Blade – hawkbill type, made of Japanese VG-10 steel, known for its exceptional balance between hardness and rust resistance. Its profile allows effective pulling cuts with minimal effort – ideal for cutting through ropes, belts or nets. The flat grind used along the cutting line increases control and precision, while the satin finish reduces light reflections and increases resistance to minor scratches. Blade is equipped with the company’s Spyderco Round Hole, allowing the knife to be opened instantly without the need for both hands.
Handle – made of matte stainless steel, providing maximum rigidity and resistance to mechanical damage and corrosion. Its slim shape with delicate profiling guarantees a secure grip in all conditions – even with gloves or a wet hand. The centrally located back lock mechanism works smoothly and reliably, offering the certainty of locking the blade. Complementing the overall design is a double-sided deep carry clip, allowing the knife to be conveniently carried in a pocket or at the belt, and a rope hole, which makes it easy to secure the knife in difficult field conditions.
